National Student Loan Data System
The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is a US Department of Education database
for federal student aid. On NSLDS, aid recipients can find a summary of their federal
student loans and grants received over the course of their education.
To access NSLDS, please visit www.nslds.ed.gov. You can access your summary by selecting
"Financial Aid Review". Please note that you will need to login using:
your social security number
the first two letters of your last name
your date of birth and
your Federal Student Aid PIN
If you have forgotten or disabled your PIN, you can either retrieve or enable your PIN
through www.pin.ed.gov. To retrieve your PIN, please select "Request a Duplicate PIN". To
enable your PIN once again, please select "Reestablish My PIN". For each option, you will
need to enter:
your social security number
the first two letters of your last name and
your date of birth
Once you have logged on, please review the information on your summary page to ensure
that the data is correct. If you feel there is an error, you will need to contact the education
institution where you originally borrowed and/or the agency that is servicing and
collecting on the loan.
You can access the specific details of each aid award by selecting the blue number in the far
left hand column. For loans, you will find loan dates/periods, disbursement information,
current balances, loan statuses, and interest rate type (fixed or variable). The loan details
will also include contact information for the current servicer, lender, and/or guarantor.
Please note, NSLDS is updated approximately every 30 days. The information on the
summary page may not reflect the most recent adjustments or payments. To access the
most updated loan information, please contact your servicer or set up an online account on
your servicer's website.
