How do I get my teacher certification in Washington state? If you're interested in teaching in Washington State, the traditional pathway includes four broad steps: Get a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university. Pass the required exams for Washington teacher certification: the WEST-B Basic Skills exam and the NES/WEST-E content knowledge exam.
