She is to receive gemcitabine for Recurrent Ovarian Cancer at a dose of 1000 mg/m2. Due to toxicities, she is to receive a 25% dose reduction. Calculate her BSA using the Mosteller method of calculation and then calculate her dose of gemcitabine.

Section 3 – Prescribing the initial dose Gentamicin can be given via the intramuscular route in the absence of intravenous access. Dose is based on lean body weight (LBW) whenever the patient’s actual weight is ≥20% above their LBW. Dose varies with the age of the patient.

OCCASIONAL, SOME MAY BE SERIOUS In 100 people receiving Cisplatin, Gemcitabine, from 4 to 20 may have: Allergic reaction which may cause rash, low blood pressure, wheezing, shortness of breath, swelling of the face or throat Confusion Difficulty with balance Diarrhea, constipation

with serum gentamicin levels after 3 doses if planning to continue and then every 3 days during therapy (or more frequently if renal impairment is detected at any time). Worsening renal function may be an early indicator of impending clinical toxicity. If nephrotoxicity occurs at any time, consider alternative antimicrobial therapy
