On the 16th of December 1944, the 7th Armoted Division with its attached troops, located east and northeast of HEERLEN, Holland, was in XI11 Corps reserve. At 1730 it was alerted for early movement to VIII Corps in the vicinity of BASTOGNE, Belgium.
